Risk Factors and Post-Operative Predictors for Recurrent Lumbar Disc Herniation

The purpose of this study is to identify some risk factors and post-operative predictors for recurrent lumbar disc hernia (rLDH) during a long-term follow-up in patients treated with microdiscectomy. Aim the paper: This analyzes postoperative Material methods. We analyzed retrospectively consecutive series who underwent spinal microdiscectomy herniation (LDH) from January 2013 June 2018 at our Institute. rate rLDH was correlated baseline data. Results. A total 263 were included median time 24 months (from 13 43 months). Most had within first 36 after surgery. At multivariate analysis, recurrence LDH associated higher pre-operative body mass index (BMI) Oswentry disability (ODI) statistical significance. Conclusions. Baseline BMI post-surgery ODI could predict surgery follow-up.
